“Sansaar” (1951) was a Gemini Pictures Production. This movie was a remake of their own Tamil and Telugu movies, both called “Samsaaram”. “Sansaar”(1951) was directed by S S Vasan and the starcast consisted of Ishwarlal, M. K. Radha, Vanaja, Mohana, Agha, Meera, J. S. Kashyap, Anil Kumar, Kalla, Ratnappa, Pushpavalli, Swaraj, David Abraham. From the cast, it is seen that most characters of the original South Indian language movie were used in the Hindi version too.
I have discussed two lovely songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song is sung by Talat Mehmood. Pt Indra Chandra is the lyricist. Three music directors, namely E S Sastry, M D Parthasarathy and B S Kalla composed the music of this movie. It is not clear how they shared the workload. One view is that the three music directors composed music for the movies of the three languages, viz Tamil, Telugu and Hindi respectively. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter. For the time being, I have considered E S Sastry as the music director of this song.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

Song-Mit nahin sakta kabhi (Sansaar)(1951) Singer-Talat Mehmood, Lyrics-Pt Indra Chandra, MD-E S sastry
Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)
mit nahin sakta kabhi
likhha hua taqdeer ka
mit nahin sakta kabhi
likhha hua taqdeer ka
bas nahin chalta yahaan
insaan ki tadbeer ka
mit nahin sakata kabhi
likhha hua taqdeer ka
kaun hai jis par kabhi
kaali ghata chhaayi nahin
kaun hai jis par kabhi
kaali ghata chhaayi nahin
raam aur ghanshaym par bhi
kya vipat aayi nahin
raam aur ghanshaym par bhi
kya vipat aayi nahin
yaad hai ban ban bhatakna
jaanaki raghuveer ka
mit nahin sakta kabhi
likhha hua taqdeer ka
sukh kabhi aur dukh kabhi
ee ee ee ee ee
sukh kabhi aur dukh kabhi
sansar ki ye reet hai
sansar ki ye reet hai
aaj jiski haar hai to
kal usi ki jeet hai
dhoop chahi rang hai
sansar ki tasveer ka
mit nahin sakta kabhi
likhha hua taqdeer ka
bas nahin chalta yahan
insaan ki tadbeer ka
mit nahin sakata kabhi
likhha hua taqdeer ka

The music director for the Telugu, Tamil versions was Susarla Dakshinamurthy. Some of the songs sound very similar to the Telugu songs including this one and ‘ye sansaar’, where the resemblance is closer. I guess that they were somewhat easy about credits those days. I think that Dakshinamurthy himself imitated some Hindi tunes.
