“Hamsaaya”(1968) was a Joy Mukherjee Production movie. It was produced and directed by Joy Mukherji. The movie had Joy Mukherjee, Sharmila Tagore, Mala Sinha, Rehman, Gajanan Jagirdar, D. K. Sapru, Malika, Madan Puri, Jankidas, Jagdish Kamal, Polson etc in it.
The best thing about this movie was its music. I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie including such well known songs viz. Dil ki aawaz bhi sun and Wo haseen dard de do jise main gale lagaa loon .
Here is another song from the movie. This song is a get together song where Joy Mukherji, Sharmila Tagore and Mala Sinha lip sync this song. Mahendra Kapoor sings for Joy Mukherji whereas the two ladies take turns lip syncing in Asha Bhonsle;s voice. From the picturisation, it is clear that the three form a love triangle and this song shows Sharmila Tagore staking her claim on Joy Mukherji whereas Mala Sinha sacrificing her love for Sharmila Tagore.
Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.

And Arun-ji, don’t forget to mention that one of the Joys and Mala Sinha played the roles of Chinese nationals! Unbelievable but true! The plot was plain stupid and the movie nosedived into obscurity. ‘Humsaya’ is still remembered today only for it’s enchanting songs by the Hasrat Jaipuri / O P Nayyar duo……

I know.The film was so rotten,that I am not going to give even the review,as I can not tolerate limitless stupidity in this film.The less said the better.

Humsaya-68 was a film in which Joy Mukherji was having a double role,that is why 2 Heroines.
