Do roz mein wo pyaar ka aalam guzar gayaa

“Pyaar Ki Raahen”(1959) is an obsure movie which was a Thakur Pictures Production. It was directed by Lekhraj Bhakri. The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Anita Guha, Pran, Kuldeep Kaur,Helen, Sunder, Tiwari, Om Prakash, Jeevan, etc in it.
The songs from this movie are just as obsure as the movie. I have discussed one song from thgis movie in the past.
Here is another song from “Pyaar Ki Raahen” (1959). It is sung by Mukesh. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kanu Ghosh.
Only the audio of this song is available, but my guess is that this song was picturised on
Pradeep Kumar.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.
Song-Do roz mein wo pyaar ka aalam guzar gaya (Pyaar Ki Raahen)(1959) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics-Prem Dhawan, MD-Kanu Ghosh
Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)
do roz mein woh pyaar ka
aalam guzar gaya
do roz mein woh pyaar ka
aalam guzar gaya
barbaad karne aaya thha
barbaad kar gaya
do roz mein
bas itni si hai daatstaan
bachpan ke pyaar ki
bas itni si hai daatstaan
bachpan ke pyaar ki
do phool khilte khilte hi
gulshan ujad gaya
aa
gulshan ujad gaya
do roz mein woh pyaar ka
aalam guzar gaya
barbaad karne aaya thha
barbaad kar gaya
aa
do roz mein
leke sahaara aas ka
kab tak koi jiye
leke sahaara aas ka
kab tak koi jiye
ae maut aa ke zindagi se
dil hi bhar gaya
dil hi bhar gaya
do roz mein woh pyaar ka
aalam guzar gaya
barbad karne aaya thha
barbaad kar gaya
do roz mein

I’ve heard this song before (a few times actually) but I had NO clue which movie it is from. Good to listen to it again.

Yes, I agree with Mr Mani Menon. This is by no standards, an obscure song. It is a sad song with typical Mukesh stamp and was quite popular. Even today, Mukesh fans sing and remember this song.

Atul ji,
PYAR KI RAHEN-1959 was truly an obscure movie and even though there were 2 good songs were there, these also suffered as the film flopped.only when these songs are played somewhere, they are exposed to public.
The film,a Thakkar prodn.,was not only directed by lekhraj bhakri, but he also wrote the story and s/play.The music was by KANU GHOSH.many readers may not be aware of him.he used to be seen on Doordarshan, conducting songs, earlier.for a long time ,he was Salil Chaudhari’s assistant. In this film Kanu Ghosh is assisted by Sebastian and Bal Kishen.he had given music to one song in Teen Batti Char rasta-53,naya Zamana-57 and Pyar ki Rahen-59.
Kundanlal is a zamindar, who lives with his younger step brother Prakash(Pradeep Kr.),wife Gangajali(Kuldip Kaur) and Lali(Anita Guha),sister of Gangajali. This Gangajali hates prakash and is opposed to his love with Lalli. Finally, she is successful in driving him out of the house and the town. Then she fixes Lali’s marriage with a rich, but stingy Rajaram from lucknow’s son Nandlal. His elder son Amarnath is a TB patient.inspite of the opposition of kundanlal,Lali is ready to marry nandlal. At the time of marriage,Rajaram brings Amarnath-TB patient as the bridegroom and Lali gets married unknowingly to Amarnath. When they return to Lucknow,Amar dies and Lali becomes widow.Rajaram puts the entire blame on Lali and starts torturing her like a mother-in-law.Despite all this Lali decides to stay there and look after that family.Slowly,Rajaram changes his mind about Lali, looking at her dutifulness and devotion to family.
Finally,Rajaram himself finds out prakash and marries Lali off with him.

Though from very obscure film, the song is a beauty. This also celebrates music of talented but little known Kanu Ghosh.Compliments Atul and keep it up!

Ms Khyati Bhatt seems to have made a small error while posting the lyrics of this song – ” do roz mein wo pyar Ka aalam …. . ” . In the second stanza … It should be ” le ke Sahara yaad Ka kab Tak koi jiye … Instead of ” le ke Sahara aas Kab Tak koi jiye … ”
Thanks .

Saw the film in a theatre in San Francisco in 1974. Very mediocre.
Yes, the song was sung by Pradeep Kumar.
It has a third ‘antara’. I wish I had the presence of mind to jot down the lyrics!
I think the tune was different from the available two.
Based on raag mishra gara, ‘do roze me wo pyaar ka’ is, in my opinion, one of the best of melancholic Mukesh.
Thanks for all the gems you have been selecting and offering to us!

This song, while not exactly a hit, was by no means obscure. I remember Vividh Bharathi regularly playing this song.
