Pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane

Posted on: April 19, 2012

I had neither heard this song nor the name of the movie this song is from. Name of the movie is “Road No 303” (1960). YT, whose information is always required to be taken with a pinch of salt, mentions the year as 1963. This B grade movie was a Mahesh Pictures production and it was directed by Dharmesh Kumar. The movie had Mehmood, Shubha Khote,Bhagwan, Helen, Tiwari, K. N. Singh, etc in it. I found that the year of release of this song is variously shown as 1959, 1960 and 1963.

There are two links of this song in YT. One link correctly mentions that the song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. The other link mentions the female voice as Geeta Dutt !

Naqsh Llayalpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Arjun.

Only the audio of this song is available, but it is my guess that the song was picturised on Mehmood and Shubha Khote.

I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this obscure movie.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me Nitin Shah.

Song-Pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane (Road No 303)(1963) Singers-Asha Bhonsle, Rafi, Lyrics-Naqsh Llayalpuri, MD-C Arjun

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane
achhaa ji
ho jaayega pyaar kisi na kisi bahaane
achha ji
pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane
he he achhaa ji
ho jaayega pyar kisi na kisi bahaane
achha ji

ho ho ho he
aankhon ne aankhon se milkar kholey pyaare raaz
mere dil ne tere dil ki samjhi hai aawaaz
tumhi socho tumhi samjho
aage kya hoga
arre pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane
achhaa ji
ho jaayega pyaar kisi na kisi bahaane
achha ji

he he he he
baaton hi baaton mein toone chhede dil ke taar

hanste hanste ham ye kaisa kar baithe ikraar
chhodo ji pachhtaana kaisa
huaa jo hona thha

arre pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane
achhaa ji
ho jaayega pyaar kisi na kisi bahaane
achha ji

hohoho he
hamne tumse tumne hamse keh di dil ki baat
haath badhaakar haath mila lo
rahenge dono saath

apna kya kar legi duniya dekha jaayega
arre pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane
achhaa ji
ho jayega pyaar kisi na kisi bahaane
achha ji
pehli pehli baar miley hain do deewaane
achhaa ji
ho jaayega pyaar kisi na kisi bahaane
achha ji

Atul ji,
ROAD NO.303-1960 is truly an obscure movie as no info is available about it on any internet site. This name too is not known to many.
It was the debut film of composer C.ARJUN.
Arjun Parmanand Chandnani was a talented composer who did not get his right dues in life and was counted among B/C grade composers. He was born on 1-9-1933 in Karachi and for a long time was an asstt. to composer Bulo C Rani. His most famous film was JAI SANTOSHI MAA.
The film was produced by Ratankumar and Bhikhubhai. It was directed by Dharam kumar who directed films like,Truck driver,Sarfarosh,Rustam Kaun,Main aur mera bhai,Jalte deep,Capt.Sheroo etc.etc.
The lyrics were by Naqsh Lyallpuri and Jan nisar Akhtar.
Manohar(maqbool) is murdered and his body is thrown on the Road No. 303 in the dead of the night.Ramesh(Mehmood) his younger brother who loved him much is devastated. Manohar was an honest Police officer.
Ramesh is in love with Sadhana(Shubha Khote),an young and educated daughter of Seth Deen Dayal(K.N.Singh) .Seth ji is a well known philanthropist, rich man, running destitute homes for widows and orphans.
Ramesh starts finding out about the cause of murder and he learns that soon Manohar was to arrest a big person in society for some serious crime.Munna(Bhagwan) a small time pickpocket and a friend of Ramesh also helps him .Sona(Helen0 a dancer in ‘Red lite Cafe’ is also in love with Ramesh and helps him.

Meanwhile there are attempts to kill Ramesh too.finally, with the help of Sona, munna, and Sadhana,Ramesh finds out that the murdere is nobody else but Seth DeenDayal who runs a racket of trading women and children to Arab countries.

Sadhana is very firm and in the end Seth ji is arrested for murder of manohar and for his illegal work.
