Paalanhaare Raam hain

“Dil Ek Mandir”(1963) was a Chitralaya Production presentation. It was directed by Sridhar and it had Rajendra Kumar, Meena Kumari, Raj Kumar, Mehmood, Shobha Khote, Achla Sachdev etc.
The movie was a musical blockbuster and it was studded with seven musical gems. As many as six of these songs have already been discussed in the blog.
The seventh song from this movie is surprisingly lesser known. This song is sung by Suman Kalyanpur. Shailendra is the lyricist and its music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
Only the audio of this song is available and that too only one stanza. I wonder if this song was longer in duration and whether this song was picturised as well. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this song and its picturisation.
I am happy to present this obscure song from “Dil ek Mandir” (1963) and with this song, the blog now boasts of all the songs from this movie.

Lyrics
Paalanhaare Ram hain
raakhanhaare Ram
kar de apne aap ko arpan unke naam
dayi bhale ho nirdayi
daya sindhu hain Ram
deenbandhu hain deen ke
nirban ke Balram
jo chaahe so maang le
donon baanh pasaar
Seeta Prabhu nahin bhaya
daata ka bhandaar

I heard it was shot in 30 days and in those days this was unheard of. All the artists and Music Directors were very busy and were in top brackets. The real reason was the availabilty of finance and secondly it was a remake and hence they had the script ready

Did you know that this movie was completed in just four months?! The credit for this goes to Sridhar, Meena Kumari, Rajendra Kumar, Raaj Kumar and the entire cast for their professionalism.
