Here is another fun song from the film “Minister”. Two months ago the post another song “Aji Biwi ko ghar pe bitthla ke” from this film appeared in the blog. The song I am discussing now will be the third song from this film. This is a “telephone song” sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle. Music is by Madan Mohan and Lyricist is Rajendra Krishan. Unfortunately, I dont recognise the two actors who are lip synching this song. The song is funny enough, just like “mere piyaa gaye rangoon”. Bhagwaan Dada is seen only briefly during the song. Telephone songs have their own appeal as the the singers are required to be on the opposite ends of the line. But in this song, though it starts in a telephone booth and ends there too, the protagonists are singing it with each other and roaming around outdoors.
Some telephone songs which are memorable are “Jalte hain jiske liye” from Sujata, “Neend ud jaaye teri chayn se sone waale” from Juaari, and of course, “more piyaa gaye rangoon” .
Coming back to this movie, I dont know any thing about it so unable to write anything. We shall have to rely on our very own in house encylopedia Arunkumar Deshmukh Sir ji to provide the details about the film.
Being polite on the phone, saying hello first, then recognising the caller and asking about their well being and saying “How do you do ?” have got out of fashion. Even asking “how are you?” and saying ” I am good” is no longer in. The refrain on mobile phones is usually “where are you?” or “kahaan pahunchi ? “. My friend and colleague is now posted in another building and in a spot where there is no range for her mobile. This has caused a communication gap between us. Sometimes we are not able to get back to each other with updates. Today when I called on the office landline she was unavailable and then she called thrice on my mobile, when I was not around(the mobile). I failed to get back to her after reaching home. Tomorrow she is going to give me a hard time about not taking her calls. She will say “bahut busy ho gayee hai, I should not call you only.” Such is the irony of modern communication devices and us humans.
Anyway let’s enjoy this old fashioned communication ‘Chhed khaani” and get acquinted with words like “Mizaaj” , “jahannum” etc. Some bambaiyya words, like chipku, khisku etc. are very much in circulation with words like ‘tapku’ “pakaao’ etc.

Male actor must be SURESH(Hero of Vyjayanthimala in “Yasmin” and acted opposite Vijaya chaudhary in “Satta baazaar”-featured in famous song of the movie”Tumhein yaad hogaa, kabhi hum mile the-lata,hemant kumar duet)
And the actress must be RATNA BHUSHAN(Real life mein Bharat Bhushan kis dharampatni)

or she must be ROOPMALA herself,resemblances are there.Some one must confirm the correctness of the fact.

Prakash ji,
I think it should be Roopmala. Her name appears in the credits for the film.
Ratna Bhushan’s name does not appear in the list of credits.
