“Dard” (1947) was a Kardar Productions movie. It was produced and directed by A R Kardar. The movie had Suraiya, Munawar Sultana, Nusrat, Husn Banoo, Badri Prasad, Protima Devi, Shyam Kumar, Amir Ali, Lakshman, Noor Mahal etc in it.
This movie had some nice songs in it which are remembered to this date. The most popular song of the movie was sung by a newcomer, viz Uma Devi and it was the song Afsana likh rahi hoon. Four songs from this movie including the aforementioned song has been discussed in the past.
Here is the fifth song from this movie. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
The song is picturised as a piano song. I am unable to identify the actors on whom this song is picturised. They are all unfamiliar to me. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify them. I cannot help but comment that they look so young in a movie that was released as far back as 65 years ago !

Shamshad Begum singing for Husn Bano, she is playing piano here. While Munawar Sultana and Nusrat Kardar listening.
Nusrat Kardar was introduced by his elder brother A.R. Kardar [legendary Indian director].
Well, Nusrat had very limited acting skills. Later he moved to Pakistan.

One of my many favourites of Shamshad Begum. May her soul rest in peace. A legend is lost. But, her voice will be loved and remembered forever.
