Today (13 august) is the birthday of Vyjyantimala, one of the most proficient classically trained dancer to grace the silver screen. She made her debut in Hindi movies in 1950 with “Bahaar” (1950) and she had a long innings in Hindi movies which lasted till around 1967 when she finally bowed out of Hindi movies.
“Naagin” (1954) was one of the most influential Hindi movies of all times. It gave Indian music lovers its archtypical “been” music which continued to get copied in subsequent movies for a long time to come. The movie itself is full of memorable songs and quite a few of them have gone on to become iconic songs.
As many as nine songs of “Naagin” (1954) have already been discussed in the blog. On the occasion of Vyjyanti Mala’s birthday, here is the 10th song from “Naagin” (1954). The song is sung by Lata and chorus. It is picturised as a dance song on Vyjyanti Mala and other dancers.
