Today (26 september) is the 23rd death anniversary of Hemant Kumar (16 june 1920- 26 september 1989). On this occasion , here is a song from an unreleased movie called “Insaaf Kahaan Hai” (1958).
This song is a duet and it is sung by Geeta Dutt and Hemant Kumar. Hairat Sitapuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Robin Bannerji.
Little information is available about this shelved movie. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie.

INSAAF KAHAN HAI-1958 was a social film made by Film Trust of India,Bombay.This was the very FIRST film of composer Robin Bannerjee,but unfortunately,the film was abandoned half way after recording 6 songs in October-1958
The film was produced by Ram Punjwani and Directed by Deepak Asha.The lead pair was Kaan mohan and Chandra.
This was a social film dealing with Dowry system .
This film was also made in Sindhi as ” Insaaf Kithe Ah “-1959.Music for this Sindhi version was given by C.Arjun.

Very melodious song. Unfortunate that the film could not be released. Robin Banerjee could have probably uaed the song in some other movie so that the general public could have heard and enjoyed the melody. I love the smoothness and the lovely tune of the song.
