“Rangeen Raaten” (1956) was an Ambitious Pictures Production. It was directed by Kidar Sharma. The movie had Shammi Kapoor, Geeta Bali, Mala Sinha, Chand Usmani, Pesi Patel, Rohit, Bhupendra Kapoor etc in it. Yes, it was one of rare movie where Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali had acted together.
One song from this movie has been discussed in the past. Here is the second song from the movie. This song is sung by Lata. It is picturised on a lady playing a blind woman who sings this song in front of a man. I am unable to identify them. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify them.
Kidar Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Roshan.

With due respect, A small correction in the lyrics.
It is ‘ankhiyon ko ASNAAN karaa kar’, not snaan karaa kar.
Kidar Sharma was famous to use local colloquial words in his unique poetry.
Another example: In the song from the film Bawre Nain of 1950, ‘sun bairi balam kachhu bol re IB kya hoga’. (IB is used by villagers in UP instead of ab)

It is true that the pronounciation of the singer is “asnaan”, but the word is “snaan”. In some parts of the country (including where I grew up) such words are pronounced with an “a”- in the beginning, viz “spasht” (clear) is pronouced as “aspasht” (unclear), “snaan” (bath) as asnaan” (non bath), “sthaayi” (permanent) as “asthaayi” (temporary) etc, but when it comes to spelling on paper, it is written in the proper manner.

Atulji, Sorry to disagree.
I am of the opinion that the lyrics should be according to the words used in the song.
I know colloquially, ‘i’ is added to words starting with ‘s’ like istation ischool etc, but that is grammar. What we write in lyrics is what we should utter if we were to sing that particular song.
Don’t you agree Sir?.
