“Chitralekha” (1941) was based on a 1934 novel of the same name penned by Bhagwati Charan Verma. Kidar Sharma was the producer and director of this movie. According to information contained in YT, The movie had Mehtab in the title role of Chitralekha. Other leading actors in the movie were Nandrekar (as Samant Bijgupt), A.S. Gyan (as Kumargiri), Rajendra , Monica Desai (as Yashodhara), Ram Dulari, Leela Mishra, Ganpatrai Premi (as Mrityunjay) and
Bharat Bhushan (making his debut in Hindi movies) etc in the movie.
Later, Kidar Sharma again remade the movie in 1964 with the same title. This time Meena Kumari had played the title role in this movie, viz. “Chitralekha” (1964).
One song from “Chitralekha” (1941) has been discussed in the past. Here is the second song from this movie. Details about the singers of this song are seeingly unavailable. this song is a duet which has a female voice and a male voice (which sounds rather familiar). Kidar Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ustaad Jhande Khan.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the singers of this song as well as on the piturisation of tis song.

The male singer has been identified as Siddheshwar Mukherjee on 78 RPM Megaphone disc.

Atul ji,
As per this song is in 2 Parts and the singer’s name is given as Sidheshwar Mukherjee.Out of total 10 songs 6 songs are sung by Ramdulari. So the female voice may be of Ramdulari in this song.
