While Padosan (1968) is much more famous for its funny songs and “mere saamnewali khidki mein”, it has more to it than that. This Kishore Kumar solo for example often gets forgotten when people talk of the songs from this film.
Bindu (Saira Banu) asks her Bholaa (Sunil Dutt) to sing a song for her on her birthday, thinking that the voice (Kishore Kumar), which he used to woo her is his own. More than that she wants to impress her friends. But this hoax gets revealed during this song, when one of her friends gets suspicious and recognises the voice to be that of Vidyapati (Kishore Kumar).
Kishore sing this soulful song with a voice, which goes straight to the heart. It seems he relishes every word, which he sings. Love every nuance of it. Enjoy!

This song must be rememberd for its picturisation,and for kishorekumar’s singing style,BOTH are very simple but attrective.RDB has made it so simple ,while seeing on the screen we never feel that we are watching a movie ,no doubt when everybody contributes 100p.c.then result is such.
ALL songs of padosan were 100 p.c.We all family members ,are agreed on point that some movies should be seen togather every two three months,PADOSAN is one of them.

who is lady , what is her name (Anuradha name in film), friend of Saira Banu, exposes fraud of Sunil Dutt n Kishore here in this song ; her name not mentioned anywhere ?

Ah. To be sure. Kishore puts his heart and soul into this song. In fact, he sings it on screen with equal fervour. So much that when Saira and her friend come up to their room and catch them at their ‘drama’ they don’t even realise that they have been caught. Simply great.
