“Saawan Aaya Re” (1949) was a Hindustan Chitra production movie. It was directed by Kishore Sahu. The movie had Kishore Sahu, Pratima Devi, Ramola, Sofia, Mohana, Gulab, Anant Prabhu, Promoth Bose, David Abraham, Ramesh Gupta etc in it.
Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from the movie.
This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. This missing the beloved melancholic song is picturised on Ramola Devi. I hope that my identification is correct. I request our knowledgeable readers to confirm/ refute my identification.
Bharat Vyas is the lyricist. This lovely song is composed by Khemchand Prakash.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.
Song-Nahin fariyaad karte hain tujhe bas yaad karte hain (Saawan Aaya Re)(1949) Singer-Shamshad Begam, Lyrics-Bharat Vyas, MD-Khemchand Prakash
Lyrics (Provided by Nitin Shah)
nahin fariyaad karte ham
tujhe bass yaad karte ham
sanam teri qasam
nahin fariyaad karte ham
tujhe bass yaad karte ham
sanam teri qasam
chhupaaye dil mein apna gham
yoonhi din raat jalte ham
sanam teri qasam
chhupaaye dil mein apna gham
yoonhi din raat jalte ham
sanam teri qasam
nahin fariyad karte ham
tujhe bass yaad karte ham
sanam teri qasam
kisko sunaayen apni kahaani
thandi thandi raaton mein
jalti jawaani
kisko sunaayen apni kahaani
thandi thandi raaton mein
haaye jalti jawani
soye chain se aalam
akele jaagte hain ham
sanam teri qasam
sanam teri qasam
teri qasam
teri qasam
nahin fariyaad karte ham
tujhe bass yaad karte ham
sanam teri qasam
duniya meri barbaad rahe
tu shaad rahe aabad rahe
duniya meri barbad rahe
tu shaad rahe aabad rahe
tere naam ki har dum
japaa karte hai maala ham
sanam teri qasam
sanam teri qasam
teri qasam
teri qasam
nahin fariyaad karte ham
tujhe bass yaad karte ham
sanam teri qasam

Maheshji
You are right although at a lesser pace. You have a good memory as you could spot the similarity

SAME ( year + lyric writer + music director + singer + category of song )
Film: RhimJhim 1949
Song : na tum aaye na neend aayi
Even the word “fariyaad” is common in both songs.
However both songs are different and are equally melodious to listen.
Nitinji/Atulji,…Thanks for the song.
