Jab duniya badli hai phir kyun na badlen hum

Posted on: September 20, 2013

“Armaan” (1953) was a Film Trust of India production. It was directed by Fali Mistry. the movie had Dev Anand, Madhubala, Shakila, Jagirdar, Gulab, Murad, K. N. Singh etc in it.

Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth song from the movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. One Asha Bhonsle song from this movie has been discussed in the past and that was picturised on Madhubala. And another song from the movie, which was sung by Lata was also picturised on Madhubala. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala.

Song-Jab duniya badli hai phir kyun na badlen hum (Armaan)(1953) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Sahir Ludhianvi, MD-S D Burman

Lyrics(Provided by Avinash Scrapwala)

Jab duniya badli hai
phir kyun na badlen hum
khilte huye mausam mein
kyun beeti rut ka gham
jab duniya badli hai
phir kyun na badlen hum
khilte huye mausam mein
kyun beeti rut ka gham

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
jo beeti beet gayi
ee ee ee ee ee ee
jo beeti beet gayi
ab usko yaad na kar
rangeen bahaaron ko
yoonhi barbaad na kar
in naazuk ghadiyon ki
umren hoti hain kam
khilte huye mausam mein
kyun beeti rut ka gham
jab duniya badli hai
phir kyun na badlen hum
khilte huye mausam mein
kyun beeti rut ka gham

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
chaahat ke gulshan se
He he he he he
chaahat ke gulshan se
khushiyon ki kaliyaan chun
kuchh apne dil ki keh
kuchh mere dil ki sun
ye doori kaisi hai
main phool hoon tu shabnam
khilte huye mausam mein
kyun beeti rut ka gham
jab duniya badli hai
phir Kyun na badlen hum
khilte huye mausam mein
kyun beeti rut ka gham

The opening music seems to be a copy of some English music. Please help
