“Baansuriya” (1949) was a Nigaristaan Films Production movie. It was directed by Ram Narayan Dave. The movie had Ram Singh, Geeta Bali, Om Prakash, Randhir, Kuldip, Sofia, Gulab, Uma Dutt, Shanti Madhok etc in it.
Here is the first song from this movie to appear in the blog. It is sung by S D Batish. Mulkraj Bhakri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.
Song-Na shama ka qusoor na parwaane ka qusoor (Baansuriya)(1949) Singer-S D Batish, Lyrics-Mulkraj Bhakri, MD-Husnlal Bhagatram
Lyrics (Khyati Bhatt)
akela ishq ki duniya mein kab deewaana jalta hai
ke pehle shama khud jalti hai
phir parwaana jalta hai
ud ud upar jaaye
thhak kar haar jaaye bechaari
do dil milkar ek huye jab aankhen ho gayin chaar
khadi ho gayi duniya unke beech ban ke deewaar
aise bichhde dono ho gaye
aise bichhde dono ho gaye

I believe HB had limited range of capabilities. All their songs had the same metre, same tune, same raag and same range. All their songs sound the same.

Reminds me of Suraiya’s song, Wo paas rahen ya door rahen… Badi Bahen-49 by the same MD, Husnlal Bhagatram.
