“Maa Ka Aanchal” (1970) was produced and directed by Jagdev Bhambhri for Harintaraj Films. The movie had Sanjeev Kumar, Abhi Bhattacharya, Anjana(mumtaz), Leela Mishra, Jagdev, Sheela.R.,Satpal Nishan, Sushma, Johnny Whisky, V.Gopal, Gopal Segal, Amol Sen, Dilip Dutt, Deena Nath, Master Rattan, Abdul, RajKumar Dutt, Abdul etc in it.
I am informed that today (4 january) is the birth anniversary of Anjana Mumtaz. Here is a song from “Maa Ka Aanchal” (1970) on this occasion. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised as a mujra song on Anjana Mumtaz, who was then known as Anjana Manjrekar. More than Anjana Mumtaz, I am shocked to see Leela Mishra present in the picturisation of this kotha song. Leela Mishra, the venerable mausi of many Hindi movies plays the ruthless mistress of the kotha and is called Leelabai. 🙂 So this song can serve as a tough quiz question, viz. name a movie where Leela Mishra plays owner of a Kotha in a Hindi movie. 🙂
