“Hurricane Express”(1961) was directed by M H Doctor for Film Circle, Bombay. The movie had Azad, Mehru, Nazma, Habib, Indira, Sujata etc in it.
This movie had three lyricists in it namely Naqsh Llyalpuri, Aziz Ghazi and Akhtar Romani. But who wrote which song in the movie is not known. The names of singers singing the song are not known too.
Under such circumstances, one would expect only the audio of songs, if any, to be available. But surprisingly enough, video of a song from this movie is available. I am unable to identify the leading lady, though I can identify the leading lad as Azad.
I am unable to identify the singers of the song too, though their voices appear familiar.
I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the voices as well as the actors in the picturisation of this song.
Harbans is the music director.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.
Song-Mera dil ye deewaana nazar ka nishaana (Hurricane Express)(1961) Singers-Female voice, male voice, MD-Harbans
Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)
mera dil ye deewaana nazar ka nishaana
kahaan aaj chala hai balam
kahaan aaj chala hai balam
mere dil ka sahaara
tera ye ishaara
tere saath bhi main hoon sanam
tere saath bhi main hoon sanam
ho piyaa aa aa
in ghataaon mein mast chhaaon mein
dole mera jiya aa aa
mera dil ye deewaana nazar ka nishaana
kahaan aaj chala hai sanam
kahaan aaj chala hai sanam
in nigaahon mein
in adaaon mein
hum ne dil kho diya aa aa aa
aaj raahon mein kho ke kuch paa liya aa aa aa
mera dil ye deewaana nazar ka nishaana
kahaan aaj chala hai balam
kahaan aaj chala hai balam
khil gayi ham nazar

Khyati ji,
Thanks for this rare and melodious find. The beat and rhyhm of the dholak is just superb.
Availability of the video clip means the film is somewhere in circulation. This appears to be a VHS print.
Atul ji,
The male voice is S Balbir. The female voice could be Asha Bhosle.

Sudhirji,
Song is not complete…:( I tried to find the full version, but couldn’t. Not even in audio version.
Like you have rightly observed, someone has at least VHS of it. Hoping to find more songs of this movie. And yes, thanks for identifying the male singer, S. Balbir.
