Though it is a recent movie by the standards of this blog, this three decades old movie is so less known by now that people are not sure about its title either. This movie is variously described as “Nikamma” (1983) or “Jaan e Jaan” (1983).
This movie was directed by Ramesh Bahl for Manoranjan movies. The movie had Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Bindu,Ranjeet, Ajit, Paintal, Satyen Kappu etc in it.
Like the movie, its songs too have been forgotten with time.
Here is a song from the movie. It is sung by Asha Bhonsle. The song is picturised on Neetu Singh and Randheer Kapoor. This song used to be quite a popular song during its time. I heard this song a lot but without being aware of the details of the song.
Gulshan Bawra is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra who describes this song as a rare song ! This makes me realise the fact that time really can fly and can consign an erstwhile popular song into the dustbin of obscurity in its wake.

Haven’t heard this one before but the tune is familiar. In bengali there is a song sung by Asha Bhosle, tune by R.D. Barman “sondhyabelay tumi ami boshe achhi dujonay”…..which was a hit one!

Not remember this one (and about the movie either).
Ramesh Bahl-RD have given good musical hits. This movie, i think, must not have gone well.
