“Anjaana”(1948) was directed by S Popat for Alka Pictures. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Shalini, Neelam, D. C. Dutt, S. K. Prem etc in it.
Here is a rare song from this obscure movie. This song is a “good morning” song which is about the arrival of dawn. This song is a duet sung by Shankar Dasgupta and Geeta Dutt. This song, which is certain to cheer the listeners up, especially at morning time, is written by Bharat Vyas. Music is composed by D C Dutt.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
Just like we have an excel sheet of Rafi songs, there is a pdf file of Geeta Dutt songs, where this song is mentioned as a song from “Anjaana” (1948). But I find that the uploader of this audio (Parag Sankla, a devoted Geeta Dutt enthusiast) has mentioned this song as belonging to “Aahuti” (1950). This movie also had music by D C Dutt, so it is possible that the same song may have been included in “Aahuti” (1950) as well, though the Geeta Dutt pdf file does not mention it. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.
