“Taj Mahal” (1941) is a by now forgotten movie. One rare song from this movie has been discussed in the past. while discussing that song, Mr Sadanand Kamath, the contributor of that article had provided information about the movie too. Here is what he had to say about the movie:
The film was produced under the banner of Mohan Pictures and directed by Nanabhai Vakil. The star cast included M Kumar, Sarojini,
IndubalaIndurani, Mubarak, S Nazir, Ram Marathe, S Khalil, Baby Suraiya etc. There were as many as 17 songs in the film written by 3 lyricists – Behzad Lucknawi, S Khalil who also acted in this film and Pandit Anuj. These songs were composed by Madhulal Damodar Master. This film was Suraiya’s first major film in which she performed the role of the younger Mumtaz. I have no knowledge about the film’s music director except that he was active during 30s. His musical career probably ended sometime in the 50s. I could not get hold of his filmography but in trying to identify his films, I came across his name being mentioned in some places as Madhavlal Master, Master Madhulal or simply Madhulal. I guess these names refer to Madhulal Damodar Master.
Here is the second song from the movie. This song is sung by Rajkumari. Music is composed by Madholal Damodar master. as mentioned above, there were three lyricists in the movie but the distribution of songs among them is not known.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song. I have been unable to get a few seemingly heavy duty words right while noting down the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks and suggest corrections in the lyrics.
PS-myswar mentions that this song is sung by Indurani whereas the YT uploader mentions this to be a song sung by Rajkumari. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the identity of this singer.
PS-Now, Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia clarified that this song is sung by Indurani who also acted in this movie.

Atul ji,
As per HFGK,this song is sung by INDURANI.
The cast of this film is Sarojini,M.Kumar,Indurani (and not Indubala-she was different),Baby surraiyya etc.
Indurani (real name Ishrat) was a singer-actress in the early 40s.She acted and sang in films like Zewar-42,Bulbul e baghdad-41,Tatar ka chor-40,Chashmawali-39,Midnight mail,39,Swastik etc. She finally married Ramnik bhai Shah,owner of Mohan Studios.
Sarojini was her younger sister(real name Roshan). She married producer Director Nanubhai Vakil. Their daughter is actress AZRA.
Indurani’s son is Salim Shah,who has commented sometimes on this Blog and is very well to me. He lives in USA. He writes to me often on songs posted on this Blog.
