“Shalimar” (1946) was directed by Roop K Shorey. The by now obscure movie had Chandramohan, Begam Para, Manorama, Nisar, Pramila, Manju etc in it.
Here is the first song from this movie to appear in the blog. It is sung by Zeenat Begam.
Aziz Kashmiri is the lyricist.
This movie had three music directors in it, viz. Pt Amarnath, Anupam Ghatak and Pt Lachchiram. The distribution of songs among the three is not known. Most YT uploders tend to mention the name of Pt Aamrnath for all the songs of the movie. I request our knowledgeable raeders to throw light on the music director of this song.
Only the audio of this song is available. It appears that Zeenat Begam was the main female singer of this song and it means that she sang for the laeding lady of the movie which appears to be Begam para. I request our knowledgeable readers to confirm/ refute my guess on this matter.
