“Kuldeep” (1946) is a by now obscure movie which was directed by N Vaswani for Maya Arts Productions, Bombay. The movie had Vijay Mohini, Tasneem, Madan Puri, Bhudo Advani, Sheikh, Gulzar, Azad, Basheer, Amir Banu etc in it.
Here is the first song from this movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by G M Durrani. The lyricist is someone called Nava Naqvi, while music is composed by an equally unheard of music director named Sushant Bannerji.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.
Song-Chaand sitaaron raaton ke sahaaron (Kuldeep)(1946) Singer-G M Durrani, Lyrics-Nava Naqvi, MD-Sushant Bannerji
Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)
chaaand
chaand sitaaron
raaton ke sahaaron
duniya e mohabbat ko ye
paighaam suna do
ae chaand sitaaron
guzre huye lamhon ko na zoron se pukaro
ae chaand
ae chand sitaaron
raaton ke sahaaron
duniya e mohabbat ko ye
paighaam suna do
ae chaand sitaaron
marne pe jo kaaboo nahin
jeene pe hain majboor
marne pe jo kaaboo nahin
jeene pe hain majboor
sunte hai mohabbat ki ye
duniya ka hai dastoor
dukh dardon ki ee ee
dukh dardon ki raaton ko bhi
hans hans ke guzaaro
ae chaand sitaaron
dil doob gaya hai
kabhi aansoo jo piye hain
dam aahon se ghutata hai
magar honth siye hain
dam aahon se ghutata hai
magar honth siye hain
jeena hai jo mar mar ke to
himmat to na haaro
chaand sitaaron
ae chaand sitaaron
raaton ke sahaaron
