“Saugandh”(1942) was directed by Hem Chandra for New Theatres, Calcutta. The movie had Asit Baran, Bharati devi, Pahadi Sanyal, Chandravati, Suprabha Mukherji, Srilekha, Chhabi Biswas, Vinay Goswami, Khagen Pathak, Farooque Mirza, Dar Kashmiri, Nemo, Tulsi Chakraborty, Puttan, Narayan Rao, Maya Bose, Gopal Das, Kali Ghosh, Hira Bai, Natwar, Jawaharlal, Kaalo, Dwijen Sanyal etc in it.

Here is the fifth song from the movie. The singer of the song is not known. For that matter I am unable to identify the actress as well who lip syncs this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the identification of the singer as well as the actress. The YT uploader mentions the singer name as Shanti which is not correct. HFGk mentions Shanti as singer in three other songs, but no singer is mentioned for this song. Moreover Shanti is the name of the characted played by Bharati Devi in this movie and there was no singer of this name those days.
