Genius of Jaidev – 19
================
“Joru Ka Bhai” (1955) was produced and directed by Chetan Anand for Mahshakti Films, Bombay. The movie had Balraj Sahni, Sheela Ramani, Johnny Walker, Rasheed Khan, Praveen Pal, Kumkum, Radhika, Vijay Anand etc. in it. This is the ninth song out of ten from the movie. This song is unique as it is the only song of Shamshad Begum under the music direction of Jaidev.

The remaining 10th song according to HFGK is the second part of the song under discussion, with the same ‘mukhada’ ‘Baat Meri Maan Le’. I am unable to find that part of this song. If some Atulite will find it (even the audio), we can gleefully shout “Yipeee” to put this film in the ‘complete songs covered’ list. Kishore, S Balbir and Shamshad Begum are singing this in typical funny folk song style. Vishwamitra Adil wrote the lyrics for this song.

In this series of ‘Genius of Jaidev’ and elsewhere on this blog, lots have been mentioned about the great and unique MD ‘Jaidev’. Shamshad Begum and Kishore Kumar are the singers, about whom, I am sure, the Atulites know much more than I do. S Balbir is heard in many quawalies and chorus songs as a supporting singer to the male lead singers.

So enjoy the song as a fun song, as well as, the only song that Shamshad sang for Jaidev-ji. Other songs of this film were very popular then and are remembered even after sixty years, by the lovers of ‘purani filmon ka sangeet’.

Atul’s note- HFGK mentions this song as a multiple version song. One version is sung by Kishore Kumar, Shamshad Begam, S Balbir and chorus. This version is described by HFGK as sung by Shamshad Begam and chorus. When I listened to this version of the song, I found that it was sung by Shamshad Begam, Kishore Kumar and chorus. I have included the lyrics of this version of the song too. So with this, all the ten songs of “Joru Ka Bhai”(1955) are now covered in the blog and so “Joru Ka Bhai”(1955) now joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Part I

haa naa aa aa aa
kabhi bhoolaa ke,
kabhi yaad aake
loot liyaa,
are yeh kya kiyaa
mujhe apanaa banaa aa ke loot liyaa aaa

baat meri maan le,
haaye nazar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhwaar hain

bade laachaar hain
bas itnaa jaan le
baat meri maan le,
nazar pehchaan le

ho ooooye lalalala lalalalaa
hoye ankhiyaan kahe aa ankhiyaan milaa
par dil yeh kahe mat pyaar jataa
ghabraa sharmaa

balkha tadapaamaari
joothon ke jhoothe ishaare
arere meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le

arere meri maan

baat meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le

qaatil hain idhar
qaatil hain udhar
meri ek ??
meri ek nazar
ghaayal hain sabhi
loon kiski khabar

dilbar dilbar
dilbar dilbar,
are koi haath pasaare
matlab ke yaar hain saare

arere meri maan le
najar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhwaar hain,
bade laachaar hain

haye agad bum bum bumbum bum bumbum bum
bababum bababum bababum bababum
bholenaath bhandaar bharenge
teri manokaamna poori karenge
bhai dhar ragadaaha
dhar ragadaaha
bhai dhar ragadaaha
ho o o lalalala lalalalaa
arre man mein umang har tan mein tarang
main to ghulmil gayee sab pyaaron ke sang

hoo yeh roop hoo yeh rang, ham rahe gaye dang
main to aa gayee roop sanwaare
maand hai kya dekhata re

arere meri maan le,
nazar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhaar hain,
bade laachaar hain
bas itnaa jaan le
baat meri maan le
baat meri maan le
baat meri maan

Part II
—————————————-
teri nigaah ne bekhud banaa ke
loot liya aa aa
sambhal rahe thhe ke
phir muskuraa ke loot liya
haaye ae ae

baat meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhwaar hain
bade laachaar hain

bas itnaa jaan le
baat meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le

ho o o o
laah laah laah laah laah laah
mere haath mein hai jaadoo ki chhadi
poori ye kare har maang kadi
kya maange hai tu paas khadi
heere ki kani
moti ki ladi

mera maal hai naya nawela aa
main to hoon chhail chhabeela
haaye re meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhwaar hain
bade laachaar hain

ho o o o
laah laah laah laah laah laah
teri ?? nazar jis ghaat mein hai
mere dil mein nahin mere haath mein hai
jeene ka maza har baat mein hai
kabhi jeet mein hai kabhi maat mein hai
kya khel niraala khela aa
do din ka hai ye jhamela
haaye re meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhwaar hain
bade laachaar hain

ho o o o
laah laah laah laah laah laah
dil chheen liya man loot kiya
hans khel ke jeewan loot liya
ek phool ne gulshan loot liya
toofaan piya
abhimaan piya

hai dil waalon ka mela aa
kaise jiyun main akela
haaye re meri maan le
nazar pehchaan le
tere ghamkhwaar hain
bade laachaar hain
bas itna jaan le
baat meri maan le
baat meri maan le
baat meri maan
