“Pehle Aap”(1944) was produced and directed by AR Kardar under the banner of his home company – Kardar Productions, Bombay. The movie had Shamim, Vasti, Jeevan, Anwar, Dixit, Vidya, Laila, Chandabai, Allauddin, Amir Ali, Sham Kumar etc in it.
Nine songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the tenth song from “Pehle Aap”(1944). It is sung by Shyam Kumar and Rafi. D N Madhok is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
Only the audio of this song is available. The song appears to be picturised as a nautanki song where a male is playing a female role (as was common in those days) and is lip syncing in Rafi’s voice, where the actor playing the male role is lip syncing in Shyam Kumar’s voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
