“Bhedi Bangla”(1949), an obscure B grade mystery movie was directed by Bhagwan for Jagriti Pictures, Bombay. This movie had Baburao, Bhagwan, Azim, Shankar Mirajkar, Inamdar, K K Swami, Leela Gupte, Usha Shukla, Tarabai etc in it.
Today (16 january 2015) is the death anniversary of lyricist Ehsan Rizvi. Here is an obscure song from this forgotten movie. HFGK is silent about the singer of this song. Listening to the song, it becomes clear that it is sung by Lata.
Only the audio of this song is available. There is one link on YT where this audio is superimposed on a Meena Kumari song from “Azaad”(1955). To my mind, using video of other songs with other songs is a misleading act and uploaders should avoid doing that. But then there are people who do this and much more that detract from the purity of the original songs.
One comment in YT suggests that this song was picturised on Leela Gupte.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
