Today (6 march 2015) is Holi, the festival of colours. This is the seventh holi for this blog. And for those who are into cricket, today team BCCI plays West Indies in a world cup cricket match. Incidentally, these same two teams had also played their match on the day of Holi in 2011 during the last world cup.
I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and safe holi. And I also wish a good cricket match with a favourable outcome for BCCI fans in the world cup match.
Here is a holi song from “Namak Haraam”(1973) on this occasion. This movie was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherji for R.S.J.Productions (Combine). The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan,Simi Garewal, ,Rekha, Asrani, Jayashree.T.,Habiba Rehman,Om ShivPuri, Manmohan, Raza Murad, A.K.Hangal, Manju Bansal aka Manju Asrani, Durga Khote, Kamaldeep, Lalita Kumari, Neelam, Darshan, Manisha, Yogesh Chhabra etc in it.
This is a holi song which is sung by chorus (there is no no main singer). Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman. The song is picturised on Rekha, Asrani, Rajesh Khanna, Yogesh Chhabra etc.
