After a long long time I am trying to plunge again in Atul’s wonderful Blog. This presentation, is my sixtieth contribution.
I am going to track Noorjehan songs from the latest to the earliest and will try to complete, as far as possible, her wonderful contributions to Hindi Film Music. Her films of 1947 in our motherland, before she left for Pakistan were ‘Jugnu’ and ‘Mirza Sahiba’. All songs with her voice in these films are covered in this Blog. So I come to the year 1946. There were three films viz, ‘Hamjoli’, ‘Dil’ and ‘Anmol Ghadi’. Today I will start with ‘Hamjoli’.
Being a fan of her wonderful sweet songs, I am not going in for the details like who produced the film, who were the stars therein etc. Out of the six songs where her voice is heard, one is already posted.
Note:- HFGK has marked a song ‘Mori Chanchal Jawaani’ as Noorjehan’s, but it is in the voice of Shamshad, and hence I have not included it in my count.
Today I am presenting ‘Dukh Dard Se Jag Mein Koi Azaad Nahin Hai’. Since I am always very particular about the MD as well lyricist for any melodious song, let me mention here that Hafiz Khan has set the music to the lyrics of Anjum Pilibhiti
My plan is to complete all Noorjehan’s song from the film ‘Hamjoli’, then from ‘Dil’ and ‘Anmol Ghadi’. There may be songs of other singers in these films, but those I will leave them to my other Atulites for the achieving the target of ‘All songs covered Films.’

@Bharat Sir- thanks for the post and all the best for your series on the balance songs of Noorjehan.
I like her songs very much and I was very happy to get a chance to share few songs sung by her and which also got posted here.
