I am aware of the names of a few Hindi film names that have ‘Haathi’ in their title. The most famous of them being ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’. ‘Main Aur Meraa Haathi’, ‘Safed Haathi’ are two other such titles. Then there was another film having an Elephant as the central character in it which I watched in my childhood days and cannot forget (because of one of its songs – ‘maa tujhe dhoondhoon kahaan’) viz. ‘Maa-1976’.
The posts on ‘Safed Haathi’ and ‘Maa’ aare part of this series and would be following soon.
But I had never heard of this film titled ‘Haathi Ke Daant’.
‘Haathi Ke Daant-1973’, was directed by B.R.Ishara for Niranjana films, Bombay. Its cast includes Rakesh Pandey, Asha Sachdev, Iftikhar, Dilip Dutt, Arpana Choudhary, Usha, Hari Dutt, Mamaji, Mishrilal, Raja Duggal, Rukhsana, Sudarshan Sethi, Dulal, Phatik Mujumdar, Abbas,Suryavanshi, Sardarji, Dinesh Sharma and Asit Sen, Mridula, Rajdeep’ Manmohan Krishna in special appearance.
Music of this film was composed by Ravindra Jain.
This movie had two songs written by Kapil Kumar (though HFGK also mentions the name of Kamal Nath with Kapil Kumar as the lyricist, the songs mentioned therein have lyricist name of Kapil Kumar only.)
Asha Bhonsle and Suman Kalyanpur have sung one song each in this film.
