Today (6 february 2016) is the 102nd birth anniversary of Kavi Pradeep (6 february 1915-11 december 1998).
Kavi Pradeep, an influential and much admired singer-poet of our times wore his heart in his sleeves and that was clearly noticed in the songs that he penned. This blog has a good representation of his creations, with as many as 143 songs penned by him and 21 songs sung by him already represented.
On this occasion, here is a song from “Girls School”(1949). This movie was directed by Amiya Chakraborty for Lokmanya Productions, Bombay. The movie had Geeta Bali, Sohan, Shashikala, Sajjan, Mangala, Ram Singh, Vimla Vashsisht etc in it.
The nine songs of this movie were composed by C Ramchandra (5 songs) and Anil Biswas (4 songs).
Here is the fourth song from “Girls School”(1949) to appear in the blog. It is sung by Lata. Pradeep is the lyricist. Music is composed by Anil Biswas.
