“Dil Ki Raani”(1947) was directed by Mohan Sinha (father of actress Vidya Sinha) and directed by P V Bankar for Amar jyoti pictures film. The movie had Raj Kapoor, Madhubala, Munshi Khanjar, Shyamsunder etc. in it.
The movie had nine songs in it. Though Raj Kapoor and Madhubala were the lead pair, most of the songs of this movie were sung by Shyam Sundar. This Shyamsundar was an actor-singer and he was different from the music director of the same name.
The song under discussion is sung by Shyam Sundar and it is picturised on himself, with Raj Kapoor also visible in the picturisation. HFGK is silent about the details of this song, but looking at the picturisation of other songs of this movie makes it amply clear that the actor singer of other songs of this movie and this song is one and the same.
There were two lyricists in the movie but the lyricist of this light hearted song is not known.
Music is composed by S D Burman.
