“Nishaana”(1950) was directed by M H Wazahat for M & T Films, Bombay. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Madhubala, Geeta Bali, Kanhaiyalal, Yakoob, Nawab Kashmiri, Durga Khote, Cuckkoo, Shyama, Shanti Madhok, Ahmad Agha, Shah, Balam, Guru, Basu, Nazafi etc in it.
Two songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from “Nishaana”(1950) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Nakshab is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khursheed Anwar.
Only the audio of this song is available. The first impression that I formed on listening to this “kankadimaar” song was that it has got to be picturised on Cuckoo. And Cuckkoo indeed is there in the cast of the movie. And moreover, one can briefly hear the catcalls from an all male audience too in the song. 🙂 Nevertheless, I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
