Continuing with the alpha series of songs by Rafi Sb, I present today a lesser heard sad song from the early years of his career. The year is 1948. The young singer is just finding a foothold in the industry. The film song that will become his first popular hit happened this year – “Ik Dil Ke Tukde Hazaar Huye. . .” (from the film ‘Pyaar Ki Jeet’). Today’s song is from the 1948 film ‘Jeene Do’. The words are from the pen of Shewan Rizvi and the music is composed by Shuakat Husain Dehlavi. The name of music director will be more recognizable a few years hence, as this artist makes a change to his name, and is then known as Nashaad, starting with the film ‘Naghma’ (1953). Yes, these two are the same person.

Sad event in life is inevitable so when it is put in verse it becomes very very effective…Such melancholy has made some filmy songs immortal..I like this vintage song..Thank you…!
