Maybe the arrangers are common.
However I do not feel they sound OP Nayyarish. MM has given many cabaret songs which are different.

Just my old memory- I had nick-named Madan Mohan as ‘Copy Master’ in 50s! I had just got some my old collection/writings of 1959 & I had mentioned in it, MM as Madan Mohan C.M.; CM means not Chief Minister but Copy Master!!
He had improved & initiate his own music in late 50s & early 60s. He was a different Composer after that.

A really peppy song whose appeal was much enhanced by Kamini Kaushal on screen. I think this song has more of C. Ramchandra’s touch, instead of O.P. Nayyar as it reminds one of ‘Mr. John, O Baba Khan, ye Lala Roshandaan’ and snatches of ‘ Eena Meena Deeka’. Actually, at that time Rock ‘n Roll dance / music was in vogue.
The very respected Mr. Yagnik must be having his own (valid) reasons but his opinion of 1959 does seem to be a little harsh, particularly as he goes on to that “…he (MM) had improved and initiated his own music in late 50s & early 60s. He was a different composer after that.”
Now the year 1959 was certainly in as late 50s as you can get. Isn’t it?
Of course, Madan Mohan had himself confessed about being enamoured of the tune of ‘Yeh hawa yeh raat yeh chandni’ and copied it in his ‘ Tujhe kya sunaun main dilruba’, which also became almost equally popular.
Thanks and regards,
Avadh Lal

This is MY PERSONAL OPINION, so please do not get offended. i have been following MM’s music since ‘Aankhein’ and His music except with Lata and few with Rafi and Talat numbers ware always cheap and ordinary. In association with Lata, no doubt, he gave superb music. Was it her chemistry that influenced him? Even in films where many melodious songs were there, (Dekh Kabira Roya) some songs like ‘Ham se aaya na gaya tum se bulaya na gaya’ creeped in.
Lata-ji ke baare mein main to yeh kahunga ki “BAHEN ho to aisi ho jo BHAIYA ko OP jaise ki influence se bachaaye.”

Whenever I listen to the songs of ‘Night Club’ (1958), I get some doubt as to whether the songs were really composed by Madan Mohan. None of the songs has Madan Mohan touch. In fact, some of the songs have O P Nayyarish touch. And why not? 6 out of 7 songs have been sung by Asha Bhonsle. Sometime I feel whether Madan Mohan borrowed the musicians from O P Nayyar for this film!
Another unique thing about the music of this film is that not a single song has been sung by Lata Mangeshkar and the male playback singer.

The most well known movie of Madan Mohan whose songs sound totally O P Nayyar type is “Bhai Bhai”(1956).

I was surprised also as the music seemed so unlike Madan Mohan. But then, the jadoogar in Madan Mohan could accomplish anything. Maybe, as other esteemed friends here have commented…..arrangers and musicians were the same that O.P. Nayyar utilized or Madan Mohan liked certain rhythms. Fact remains that it is Madan Mohan here. And yes, Kamini Kaushal is so young and lovely. Many stalwarts can be seen…..Maruti and other nameless character artistes!
