“Bhed”(1950) was an obscure movie and very little is known about it. The star cast of this Ambika Chitra movie are not known.

Even the number of songs of this movie are not known. HFGK mentions that there were more than nine songs in this movie though mukhdas of only nine of them are known.

Here is the first obscure song from this obscure movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Lyricist of this song is not known. Lyricist for for songs of the movie is Madhukar Rajasthani, but that does not necessarily mean that other songs (including this one) were also penned by him as some sites mention.

Music is composed by Mukul Roy (no relation to Geeta Dutt nee Roy).

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

With this song, “Bhed”(1950) makes its debut in the blog.

Song-Ro kar main jo kehti hoon mere gham ka fasaana(Bhed)(1950) Singer-Geeta Dutt, MD-Mukul Roy

Lyrics

ro kar main jo kehti hoon mere gham ka fasaana
hans deta hai sunkar usey bedard zamaana
ro kar main jo kehti hoon mere gham ka fasaana
hans deta hai sunkar usey bedard zamaana

har ashk mein posheeda hai toofaan mere gham ka
har ashk mein posheeda hai toofaan mere gham ka
ae dil inhin aansoo mein kahi dub na jana
ae dil inhin aansoou mein kahi dub na jana
hans deta hai sunkar usey bedard zamaana
ro kar main jo kehti hoon mere gham ka fasaana
hans deta hai sunkar usey bedard zamaana

fariyaad bhi naakaam hi aayi tere dar se
fariyaad bhi naakaam hi aayi tere dar se
kya tere yahaan bhi nahi ab mere thikana
kya tere yahaan bhi nahi ab mere thikana
hans deta hai sunkar use bedard zamaana
ro kar main jo kehti hoon mere gham ka fasaana
hans deta hai sunkar use bedard zamaana

thharra(?) ke meri aankhon se aansu nikal aaye
thharra(?) ke meri aankhon se aasu nikal aaye
dil mein thha mere toote dil ka fasana
dil mein thha mere toote dil ka fasana
hans deta hai sunkar usey bedard zamaana
ro kar main jo kehti hoon mere gham ka fasaana
hans deta hai sunkar usey bedard zamaana

Dear Atulji,

It is not clear on what basis you are saying that MUKUL ROY is no relation to Geeta Dutt. She definitely had a brother by that name , perhaps slightly elder , who was also a Music Director in his own right . This is one of his immortal compositions :

We all know that Mukul stood by his sister and supported her and her young children after the death of Guru Dutt .

Geetaji’s maiden name was GEETA GHOSH ROY CHOWDHURI and she hailed from Faridpur , presently in Bangladesh.

Warm regards

PARTHA CHANDA
