“Pagdandi”(1947) was directed by Ram Narayan Dave for Pancholi Art. The movie had Padma, Akhtar, Gyaani, Om Prakash, Akhtari etc in it.
One song from the movie has been discussed in the past.
Here is the second song from “Pagdandi”(1947) to appear in the blog. HFGK is silend about the name of the singer, but the uploader of the song mmentions Zeenat Begam as the singer. D N Madhok is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khursheed Anwar.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections wherever applicable.
Song-Ae lo baadal aaye wo nahin aaye re (Pagdandi)(1947) Singer-Zeenat Begam, Lyrics-D N Madhok, MD-Khursheed Anwar
Lyrics
ae lo baadal aaye
wo nahin aaye ree
nahin aaye ree
ae lo baadal aaye
ghat dekh dekh jiya jaaye ree
jaaye ree
ae lo baadal aaye
ae lo baadal aaye
apni garaj ko chala aave jaldi(?)
meri garaj ko na aaye
haaye re haaye
meri garaj ko na aaye
apni garaj ko chala aave jaldi(?)
meri garaj ko na aaye
haaye re haaye
meri garaj ko na aaye
din to jaise taise beete
ratiya kaun bitaaye
haaye re haaye
ratiya kaun bitaaye
ab tum hi kaho ji
ab tum hi kaho
ab tum hi kaho ji
ab tum hi kaho
dukhi dil se mere kyun na nikle haaye
ae lo baadal aaye
aise sang preet lagaa ke kaun phal khaaye hai
aise sang preet lagaa ke kaun phal khaaye hai
chhoti si hai jaan hamaari
jise vo tadpaaye hai
chhoti si hai jaan hamaari
jise vo tadpaaye hai
ab tum hi kaho ji
ab tum hi kaho
ab tum hi kaho ji
ab tum hi kaho
dukhi dil se mere kyun na nikle haaye
ae lo baadal aaye
