“Shauhar”(1948) was directed by Veena Kumari for Dil Sitan Arts, Bombay Production. It had Veena Kumari, Ulhas, Sankata Prasad, Bhudo advani, Chandramukhi, Mehrunnisa, Diafza, Dulari, baby Annu. So, Veena Kumari was the maker of this obscure movie and she had her fingers in many pies. She was the lead female playback singer in this movie as well.
The movie had ten songs in it that were penned by Allama Aarzoo Lucknow and Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Ali Khan. Distribution of songs among the two lyricists is not known.
Here is the first song from “Shauhar”(1948) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Veena Kumari. Lyricist is not known. Masood is the music director.
It is easy to guess that the song must have been picturised on Veena Kumari herself.
With this song, “Shauhar”(1948), the singer, as well as the music director make their respective debuts in the blog.
