Hullo to all Atulwaale
So valentines’ day, as the world celebrates, is over and done with. All the red heart shaped balloons might have lost the air in them and stopped soaring high. All the guys will now be sewing the holes in their pockets that the gifting, dining and partying would have caused. And am sure the gals -as in guys ‘n’ gals- will be waiting for the next opportunity to drill a hole in their guys wallets/pockets.
But we on this blog don’t have to wait for another valentine’s to post a love-song. Why? Simply because we are dedicated towards Bollywood songs which in turn are all dedicated to the emotion of love. Please for arguments sake I don’t want anyone to say that not all songs are love-based. Let me prove it- we have desh bhakti (love for the nation); dev bhakti (love for one’s ishta-dev); maatri bhakti (love for the/ones’ mother); puttra- moh (love to one’s child) – shall I continue the list; I think I have got my thought across. Alright I will agree that Bollywood doesn’t have 100% love songs but then we have a great number of pyar-vyaar ke gaane. And so, we can keep posting them valentines or otherwise.
So, today’s song is a young at heart song from Ramesh Behl’s Rose Movies Presentation “Jawaani Deewaani”. This was given the censor certificate on 24th June 1972 and released on 14th July 1972. It was directed by Narender Bedi. It had two love jodis/ pairs- Balraj Sahni- Nirupa Roy & Randhir Kapoor- Jaya Bhaduri. Nirupa Roy was not seen as a crying mother here but a strong lady supporting her husband and his brother. Jaya Bhaduri also had a slightly different look in the movie and we saw her in trousers too. There was a change of image for Iftekhar too -he was first a stern brother to Nirupa Roy and then a stricter father to Jaya.
The younger pair meet in college so there was a lot of drama related to college politics etc in the movie. There was a college picnic song, one or two party songs, and one ched-chad (eve teasing sounds bad) song. Then the couple rebel and run away from home and end up in a cottage (much in the style of Aradhana’s “Roop Tera Mastaana”) and the girl develops cold feet as she feels it is too early for romance or family life. Why don’t they think of all this before eloping? I would like to find the answer to this?
So that brings us to today’s song which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar; written by Anand Bakshi and R D Burman was the music director.
Incidentally it was 70th birth anniversary of Randhir Kapoor(DoB 15 february 1947) yesterday (15 february 2017). Here is wishing him all the best even if a day late.

Lyrics
hey
aao na
dil hai beqaraar
na na
na na
hey hey
na na aaaa
nahin nahin
abhi nahin
abhi karo intezaar
chhodo na
aahaan
nahin nahin
abhi nahin
abhi karo intezaar
nahin nahin
kabhi nahin
main hoon beqaraar
na na na na
unhoon unhoon
na na na na
na baaba
main bhi jawaan
tu bhi jawaan
kami hai kis baat ki
hey
main bhi jawaan tu bhi jawaan,
kami hai kis baat ki
yahaan aao
na ghabraao
rut hai mulaaqaat ki
haan
nahin nahin
ha abhi nahin
phir kabhi dildaar
nahin nahin
kabhi nahin
main hoon beqaraar
la la la la
la la la la
la la la la
la la la
bade woh ho
tum piya
zidd kyun nahin chhodte
ho o
bade woh ho
tum piya
zidd kyun nahin chhodte
haan
kaliyon ko khilne se
pehle nahin todte
naa
nahin nahin
kabhi nahi,
chali jaayegi bahaar
nahin nahin
haa
abhi nahin
thhoda intezaar
hey hey hey
na na
ah ha ha
na naaa
nahin nahin
abhi nahin
abhi karo intezaar
nahin nahin
kabhi nahin
main hoon beqaraar
lalalala
unhoon unhoon
na na na na
na baaba
jaane jahaan
phir kahaan
aisi tanhaaiyaan
oh
jaane bhi do
chhodo mujhe
hongi ruswaaiyaan
na
nahin nahin
kabhi nahin
mat karo inkaar
nahin nahin
abhi nahin
thhoda intezaar
thhoda intezaar
