“Saweraa”(1958) was produced by Ruby Sen and it was directed by Satyen Bose for Basu Chitra Mandir, Bombay. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Meena Kumari, Bipin Gupta, Leela Mishra, Kammo, Samson, Kundan, Bhagwan Sinha, Dhumal, Keshto Mukherji, Ramesh Sinha, anil, S N Bannerji, Bishan Khanna, Jamal, s K Singh, Brahm Bhardwaj, Ravikant, sailen Bose, Ratan Gaurang, Indar, Mohan Choti, Prem Dhawan, Narbada Shankar, Govind Sharma, Ramlal, Mumtaz Begam, Uma Khosla, Sheila Vaz etc in it.
There were seven songs in the movie. As many as six songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.
Here is the seventh and final song from “Saweraa”(1958) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata. Shailendra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shailesh Mukherji.
Unlike most other songs of the movie, this song is a rare song and its video is not available. So it is difficult to say if this song was part of the movie or it was excluded from the movie. The song itself is a superb song. While most people would praise Lata’s voice in this song, the lyrics of this song that should be considered the real highlight of this song. The song is perhaps the least known song from “Sawera”(1958), but it is a song that desrves to be better known among music lovers.
