“Raees”(1948) was directed by Qaisar Sabai for Ballet Pictures, Bombay. This obscure “social” movie had Shanta Kunwar, Jawahar Kaul, M Beg, Urvashi, Balraj, Munshi Munaqqa, Malika, F Shah, Kabli, Usha Rani etc in it.
This forgotten movie had seven obscure songs in it. One rare song from this movie was covered in the blog in the past as the one hundredth song of Zohrabai Ambalewaali.
Here is the second song from “Raees”(1948) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Meena Kapoor. Qaisar Sabai is the lyricist. Music is composed by Manohar Arora.
This pathos filled song, instead of ending up as forgotten, deserves to be counted among the more memorable songs of Meena Kapoor.
Only theb audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
