“Toote Taare”(1948) was directed by Harish for Omar Khayyam Films, Bombay. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Shamim, Kanhaiya Lal, Mridula, Putlibai, Murad, Sudhir, Babu, S Ghosh, Sultan, Sharif, Kanchan Kumar, Anwaribai, Laddan, Agha Dehlavi etc in it.
This social drama movie had eight songs in it which were written by two lyricists –Anjum Pilibhiti and Rafiq Ajmeri, but the distribution of songs among them is not known.
Three songs from the movie have been covered in the past.
Here is the fourth song from “Toote Taare”(1948) to appear in the blog. This pathos filled song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Lyricist is not known. Music is composed by Shaukat Ali Dehalwi, who would subsequently be known as Naashaad.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
