In the previous post in the blog, Sudhir Jee discussed “neend” or lack thereof in some detail. It turns out that the song under discussion discusses the same topic, and in even greater detail. 🙂 This song liberally uses words like “neend”, “aankh”, “dard”, “chain” etc.
This song was one of the very first songs that Rajinder Krishan penned in Hindi movies. As someone who was keen to make his mark in HFM as a lyricist, he gave this song his best and the results can be seen (or rather heard) in this song.
The song was sung by Geeta Roy (later Geeta Dutt), who too was a newcomer those days.
Bulo C Rani, who is today lesser known than the singer or the lyricist, was easily the most established among the three.
This song is a nice “feeling of heart” genre of song. Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
