Today (18 november 2017) is the birth anniversary of V Shantaram (18 november 1901- 30 october 1990).
“Stree”(1961) was one of the later movies of V Shantaram. It was produced and directed by V Shantaram for his Rajkamal Kalamandir, Bombay. The movie had Sandhya, V Shantaram, Charusheela Shantaram, Uma, Padma Chavhan, Bablu, Baburao Pendharkar, Indira, Kamaal, Vandana, Bhagwan, Neelambai, Zeenat, Rajshree Shantaram, V Verma etc. Thus one can see that several members of V Shantaram clan appeared in this movie.
The movie had eleven songs in it. As many as six of these songs have been covered in the blog.
On the occasion of V Shantaram’s birth anniversary, here is the seventh song from “Stree”(1961) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Sandhya and others. Bharat Vyas is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.
