“Manmaani” (1947) was directed by Sarvottam Badami for I A Productions, Bombay. The movie had Jairaj, Ragini, E. Billimoria, Sabita Devi, Nazir Hussain, Amar etc. in it.
Two song from the movie has been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from “Manmaani”(1947) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Kalyani Das. Lyricist is not known. Music is composed by Kamal Dasgupta.
Only the audio of the song is available. Seeing that Kalyani’s voice figured in eight out of ten songs in the movie, it is easy to guess that she had given playback for the leading lady of the movie. Going by the story of the movie as given in the writeup of the first song, it appears that the song may have been picturised on Raagini. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
