“Baaghi Sipaahi”(1958) was produced and directed by Bhagwandas Varma for V P Films, Bombay. This costume movie, reportedly based on “Quo Vadis”(1951) had Ranjan, Madhubala, Poornima, Chandrashekhar, Sapru, S Nazir, Nishi, Renu Makad, Gajendra, Pal Sharma, Gope, Om Prakash etc in it.
The movie had eight songs in it. Five songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the sixth song from “Baaghi Sipaahi”(1958) to appear in the blog. The movie had five songs penned by Shailendra and all of them have been covered. That leaves three songs to be covered and all of them are written by Hasrat Jaipuri were penned by Shailendra.
This song is sung by Lata. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
The video of too short. The audio is nearly seven minutes long. Sadly the recording in all available versions are quite noise and that detracts from the pleasuse of listening to this song. In fact the remaining two songs from the movie also suffer from the same problem. I have no idea why, seeing that the audio quality of the songs in the movie that were discussed earlier are quite decent in comparison.
I am unable to identify the lady lip syncing the song though my guess is that she is Poornima, wife of the producer director. Nevertheless, I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the lady whose face appears heavily made up to me even in this black and white picturisation.

I think the lady lip syncing for the song is Purnima/Poornima, who is related to Mahesh Bhatt(director) and famous hindi movie actor Emran Hasmi(she is naani or daadi of Emran hashmi)
and actor is Ranjan
