A few of our regulars these days are finding themselves out of their comfort zone. Raja, for instance, is being forced to write “hurrriedly” typed articles while ho would like to get his articles typed in a more leisurely manner. The readers though are unable to detect much differences between his test match like batting and T20 like batting.
Even I find myself out of my comfort zone since yesterday. This happens with me when I am travelling and I find that my internet connecting device aka dongle is unable to catch signals even in “major” places in the state. Clearly providing good internet connectivity to itinerant bloggers is not there in the manifasto of any party in the state. 🙂
I managed to post the only post of yesterday at just past 11 PM and thus avoided the ignominy of that day ending up as a dot day.
Today one post has already apperared, an article by our in house encyclopeadia, posted by Sudhir Jee. So today is no longer a dot day. Let me also add at least one more post.
Since I am on travel, I do not have access to all the resources that I otherwise have at my base. For instance, noting down lyrics of songs becomes a tall order and a time consuming process while on tour. So I rely on lyrics where the hard work has already been done in the past and they are on the portable netbook that I carry with me during my journeys. A few such lyrics vare fortunately available. That is how I was able to post yesterday’s article at the eleventh hour.
The song under discussion is no different. This song is from “Mud Mud Ke Dekh”(1960). This movie has eight songs in it. Four of them have been covered. I had noted down the lyrics of the remaining songs some time back and i had left them in my hard drive to be used later.
When I do such “advance” planning then I find so many great songs that I am tempted to hold them back for some specia occasions. But if I hold all of them back then I find myself running short of songs for immediate discussion.
When I heard this Rafi-Shamshad Begam duet again just now, I realised that I had liked this song so much that I had held it back. But now that I am badly in need of already noted down lyrics, any song will have to be utlised, and so I present this superb “chhed chhaad” genre of song from “Mud Mud Ke Na Dekh”. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl. This is a Punjabi style energetic song where the singers, including male and female chorus participate with gusto. The song is clearly picturised as a dance song where lots and lots of dancers participate including the lead pair ( I hope). When I check up, I find that this movie had another duet song sung by Mukesh and an unidentified female voice. So I am unable to guess which song was picturised on whom. I cannot be sure about the picturisation and so I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
Once again, I am feeling like I was forced to cover this song earlier that I would have liked. That is how good this song is. 🙂

The traditional Punjabi Folk tune and rhythm was also used previously in the movie Milan (1958) in the song “Ek meri gali ka ladka” nd the interesting fact is that in both the songs the music team was same Hansraj Bahl-Prem Dhawan-Rafi -Shamshad.

Thanks to cover this on of the finest Rafi-Shamshad duet. It seems that this song have two versions or the audio record version may contain only partial song. The full song already uploaded by Sh. Surinder Sidhu, a die-heart fan of Rafi Sa’ab at here with title “Baagon main kabootar kaale” at here
