“Prem Ki Ganga”(1971) was produced and directed by Prahlad Sharma for Prahlad Sharma Productions Calcutta. This “social” movie had Soma Salkar, Manish, Kalyani, Sarvendra, Kamal Mishra, Subhadra, Sumati Roy, Master Sethi, Raju Biwa, Veena Ajay Kumar, Himani (new discovery), Avinash (new discovery), Piku (child artist new discovery) etc in it.
The movie itself stayed undiscovered by movie goers. Records of the song were made and some of these records still survive and that is the only trace of this movie.
The movie had eight songs in it.
Here is the first song from “Prem Ki Ganga”(1971) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Rafi. Prahlad Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.
Only the audio of the song is available. Someone has commented in YT that this song was picturised on Manish. I have no idea if that person actually watched this movie or he has just made a guess based on the cast of the movie. Nevertheless, i request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
