Alphabetically “Dharam Yudhh”(1988) is the first movie of 1988 that offers us a Lata Mangeshkar song to be covered in the blog.

“Dharam Yudhh”(1988) was produced by Pawan Kumar (Secretary of Shatrughan Sinha) and directed by Sudarshan Nag for Amiya’s Bombay. The movie had Sunil Dutt, Shatrughan Sinha, Kimi Katkar, Aditya Pancholi, Suresh Oberoi, Saaniya, Sushma Sheth, Anjana Mumtaz, Ranjeet, Pran, Lalita Kumari(Sinha),Sunil Dhawan, Umesh Khanna, Rajesh Nigam, Prakash Johri, Anurag Sharma, Disco Shanti etc in it. The happy version is picturised on Saania aka Saniya and Shatrughan Sinha in happier times with Shatrughan Sinha hoping to perform bidaai of his sister. The sad version shows the sister lying dead and it is her arthi instead of doli that is being carried ! One can also see Sunil Dutt, Lalita Kumari Sinha and Kimmi Katkar in the picturisation.

Incidentally, yesterday was Pran’s anniversary and I was wondering what song to post. And I spied Pran in this song, in the avatar that he was in the ’80s
