“Vidhyapati”(1964) was directed by Prahlad Sharma for Chitra Vihar, Bombay. This movie had Bharat Bhushan, Simi Garewal, Nazima, Kamaljeet, Bipin Gupta, Murad, Natwar etc in it. This movie was based on the life of Mathili poet Vidhyapati. The language of the movie is Maithili, which is spoken in Darbhanga region of Bihar.
“Vidhyapati”(1964) had 14 songs in it. two songs have been covered so far.
Here is the third song from the movie. It is sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Malay Sarkar. Prahlad Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by V Balsara.
Only audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of the song and other details. There is one word that sound like “vipin” in the lyrics but it makes no sense. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us what word it is and what does it mean.
