We observe that four movies (out of six) whose songs were covered in the blog on this date ten years ago (on 29 April 2013) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. That leaves us with two unYIPPEED movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (29 April 2023).
“Duniya Ek Saraai”(1947) is one of the BTYC eligible movies today.
“Duniya Ek Saraai”(1947) was directed by Kidar Sharma for Ranjit Movietone, Bombay. The movie had Jagirdar, Begum Para, Altaf, Rajendra, Meena Kumari, Shanta Kumari, Nazirabai, Kesarbai, Pt.Iqbal, Kumar Junior etc in it.
The movie had 9 songs in it. Five songs have been covered so far.
Here is the sixth song from the movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Meena Kumari. Kidar Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
Only audio of the song is available. It is clear that the song was picturised on Meena Kumari herself as a “separated from beloved” genre of song.
